Through the app#
Connect to the site you want to manage. Open My location and select one of the actions:
- Create a backup: The app collects installation data, generates a backup file (.bak), and displays a dialog to save the file. The backup can be saved directly to the device or sent to iCloud, Drive, Dropbox, or via email.
- Restore from backup: Restore from backup is performed on the same Core from which the backup was created and works for the same access token. Select an existing .bak file. Note that the backup also contains user information, so if you did not have access at the time of backup, you may lose it after restoration.
- Clone control unit from backup: Used when replacing a Core, for example, when migrating to a newer version.
- Factory reset: Resets the Core to its factory state. This operation must be performed on the local network. The backup file (*.bak) contains information about devices, Smart rules, site attributes (name, GPS, etc.), access systems, and users. It does not contain long-term statistical data, which is stored in the cloud.
Through USB flash drive#
Format the drive to the FAT32 file system.
Create a folder named according to the operation you want to perform (e.g., D:\network-reset).
The operation will be executed immediately after connecting the flash drive to the control unit.
Available operations#
/network-reset - reset OS network settings to default values (IP is assigned via DHCP)
/backup-create - create a backup file on the flash drive
/backup-restore
- restore from a backup file in the \backup-restore folder; the file name must be Access token.bkp (e.g., AAAABBBBCCCCDDDD.bkp)
- after a successful restoration, the backup file is moved to the \archive folder
/auto-restore
- restore from a backup file in the \auto-restore folder; the file name must be Access token.bkp (e.g., AAAABBBBCCCCDDDD.bkp)
- the backup file remains in place, so the restoration can be repeated by disconnecting and reconnecting the flash drive, or it will occur automatically at midnight if the flash drive remains connected to the control unit
/reset-factory-defaults - same as performing a factory reset via the app
