In the Settings section, you will find all the important configuration options for the TapHome system.

Settings Menu#

Software updates#

A clear option for updating the software in the control unit and all modules at once.

My Profile#

Setting the access password, remote access, and roles (User / Admin / Service).

All Users#

TapHome accounts that have access to this location. Access can be restricted to remote access only, or only when connected within the local network (Enable remote access).

My location#

Information about the control unit to which you are connected:

  • Name – location name
  • GPS position – used, for example, to calculate the sun’s position
  • Language – language used, for example, in the MZC
  • Currency and currency format – display of prices and costs
  • Date periods – in the access system, you can define holidays, school breaks, etc.
  • Media library – dashboard backgrounds and schemes stored in the control unit
  • Network settings – network configuration
  • Backups – backup and restore of configuration
  • LogsUsers and updates

Actions:

  • Option to set the time of the control unit (if connected to the internet, this is done automatically)
  • Restart the control unit

Hardware#

Here you define the interfaces through which devices are integrated into TapHome. Typically, it’s the TapHome Bus, but also:

  • Jablotron
  • Modbus RTU
  • Modbus TCP
  • KNX
  • LGAC
  • Daikin AC
  • Integration Serial
  • Integration TCP
  • Integration UDP
  • IP Camera & Door bell (SIP)
  • TP-Link HS (old models)
  • Packet parser
  • ZigBee
  • MQTT Broker

Virtual Devices#

Defines devices that exist only in the control unit and mostly obtain values from other devices or sensors. For example, a thermostat – a virtual device that combines a setpoint (a user-defined desired value) and the actual temperature from a sensor. Or a light scene – a multi-value switch with predefined icons and names for various light scenes.

Available types:

  • Thermostat
  • Analog output
  • Alarm
  • Simple alarm
  • Digital output
  • Action
  • RGB light
  • Tunable white light
  • Electric meter (Impulse Counter)
  • Electric meter (calculated consumption of Digital output)
  • Electric meters group
  • Temperature sensor
  • Light sensor
  • Water meter (Impulse Counter)
  • Water meter (calculated consumption of Digital output)
  • Water meters group
  • Gas meter (Impulse Counter)
  • Rain gauge (Impulse Counter)
  • Heating demand
  • Cooling demand
  • Heating & cooling demand
  • Multi-Value Switch
  • Heating & Cooling (Default)
  • Current heating / cooling mode
  • Heating power
  • Cooling power
  • Alert
  • Fan (4 levels)
  • Fan (3 levels)
  • Presence
  • Light scene

Variables#

You can define either a General variable without a measurement unit, which serves for auxiliary calculations, or assign it a unit using Conversions.

There are also system variables that the control unit updates automatically:

Time variables:

  • Current year
  • Quarter of the year
  • Month of the Year
  • Week of the Month
  • Week of the Year
  • Day of Week
  • Day of the month
  • Hour of the day
  • Current minute
  • Current seconds
  • Date period state – period state, 1 if active, otherwise 0

Sun variables:

  • Sun state – 1 if above the horizon, 0 if below the horizon
  • Sun azimuth – current sun azimuth relative to the control unit in degrees
  • Sun elevation – current sun elevation relative to the control unit in degrees

Expose Devices#

Used to connect TapHome devices to a master system. This means devices defined in this location that you want to send/expose to another system, for example to a SCADA system via Modbus, or to link devices to another control unit.

Supported interfaces:

  • Amazon Alexa
  • TapHome API
  • Make (Integromat)
  • KNX
  • Modbus RTU
  • Modbus TCP
  • Modbus ASCII
  • Integration protocol RS485
  • Integration protocol TCP
  • Integration protocol UDP

Access control#

TapHome can be used as a simple access control or attendance system, fully configurable remotely.

Exports#

Automated data collection and reporting from the TapHome system. Supports exporting device values, access logs, and attendance to Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or to CSV, JSON, XLSX, and XML formats.
